This track is take three... I didn't like the first track, which I put out too fast, so that I could release my album by the promised date... The second, I considered a musical improvement, but wasn't fond of the vocal... With this third attempt, I'm finally happy with the overall production, although I'm always thinking of ways I could improve it or any recording I've made. I'd love to hear your comments if you've heard all three!
If you're like me, and still want to feel the physical record in your hands, and read the dedication, and track listings with times, and all those other "old timey" tactile experiences, then this package is for you! The CD is complete with a full color printed face, and is gently enclosed in an eco-friendly full color printed sleeve, and protected from the elements with full coverage shrink wrap.

A while back, my Parrot Head friend, Steve Valentini and I were chatting through Facebook, and he ended our online conversation with a post about getting together one day soon, in a place with palm trees, nice weather and a couple of drinks... Well, with me being someone that can't let a great song title get away, that got me going, and this song was born... With many thanks to Steve (who gets writing credit with me for his contribution) for the inspiration, here's the finished product!
I was chatting with a friend of mine,
Catching up while we were both online,
We hadn't gotten together in a couple of years,
Discussing jobs and our families,
When we decided that him and me,
Needed to rendevous and have ourselves a few beers
We started thinking about meeting places,
Somewhere warm with familiar faces,
With tiki bars and no sign of a single ice rink,
He said where didn't really matter,
As long as the place we chose to gather,
Has palm trees, nice weather and a couple of drinks
Chorus 1:
We want, palm trees, nice weather and a couple of drinks,
A place that don't mind a few juvenile hi-jinks,
Where conch fritters are fried in beer batter,
And what you're wearing doesn't really matter,
Give us, palm trees, nice weather and a couple of drinks
Solo
Chorus 2:
We want, palm trees, nice weather and a couple of drinks,
Our golf clubs and 18 holes on some tropical links,
Where steamed shrimp beats fried in beer batter,
And walking barefoot don't really matter,
We want, palm trees, nice weather and a couple of drinks,
We want, palm trees, nice weather and a couple of drinks,
Give us, palm trees, nice weather and a couple of drinks...
